The place
Nagar faces Hunza across the river and gets less attention, which is the main argument for going. Minapin, Hopper and the Hispar valley all start here.
Minapin is the roadhead for Rakaposhi Base Camp — a four-day walk to a meadow at 3,500 metres with the north face directly above it. Hopper sits above a black glacier that grinds visibly downhill. Beyond it, Rush Lake at 4,694 metres is among the highest alpine lakes anyone walks to without ropes.

Two days up through walnut and apricot terraces to Hapakun, then Tagaphari at 3,500 m. The face is 6,000 metres of relief above you.
